Anglia Innovation Partnership, the campus management company for Norwich Research Park, announces three new appointments to the team – Cansu Bayindirli as a new Science Collaboration Manager, Andrea Smith as new Marketing Manager and Pamela Garay as the first T-level work placement student.

Cansu is Anglia Innovation Partnership’s second Science Collaboration Manager. She will be working in partnership with Monika Chhetry, who has been operating in a Science Collaboration role for over a year. Whereas Monika focuses on external partnerships related to agri-Food, Cansu will work with industry to maximise the impact of publicly-funded research in health and the environment. This new appointment, and the need for a second Science Collaboration Manager, reflects the unique breadth and depth of scientific activity, on one campus, in agri-food, health and the environment.

Cansu is developing her understanding of industry partnership opportunities working with the University of East Anglia (UEA), the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and the Quadram Institute. She joins from ClimateUEA, where she worked closely with researchers in developing collaboration projects between interdisciplinary academics and non-academics, which included organising workshops, roundtable and sandpit events, seminars and conferences.

Andrea joins from a top 45 accountancy firm in the East and South East of England. Previously, she worked at a marketing agency in Sudbury and has also held a number of marketing positions in the legal profession most notably with Ashtons Legal, Steeles Law, Clapham & Collinge and Fosters Solicitors. She is a Chartered Marketer with over 20 years’ experience in professional services marketing and business development.

Pamela Garay is Anglia Innovation Partnership’s first T-level workplace appointment. She is studying Management and Administration (Team Leadership and Management) at Norwich City College and will work one day a week (in total 45 days) alongside Andrea in a marketing-focused role. Pamela said, “Working at Norwich Research Park as part of my course has given me the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in a real-world setting. I try to approach every challenge with strategic thinking, resilience and a clear leadership mindset – not just to meet expectations, but to exceed them. What really excites me about working here is to see scientists and researchers creating solutions to many of our planet’s challenges that have real-world benefits for my generation. “

Anglia Innovation Partnership’s CEO, Roz Bird, said, “We have made great strides in setting up a number of collaborations with industry partnerships thanks to Monika’s efforts. It became apparent that there was huge potential to do even more so the appointment of a second Science Collaboration Manager was the obvious decision. In Cansu we have a talented individual who already has great experience of managing partnerships and collaboration at Norwich Research Park through her work at UEA.

“One of the biggest challenges we have in front of us is to continue to promote Norwich Research Park as a world-renowned centre for ground-breaking science and an ideal place for businesses to start and grow. I am delighted that we now have Andrea on board to lead our marketing communications strategy and increase our brand profile nationally and internationally.

“There is a strong argument for investing in careers education that will make a real difference to young people. That’s why I am really pleased to welcome Pamela to the team for her workplace experience. It is really important to do what we can, as employers, to engage with young people and inspire them about the world of work and the different career pathways available. There are many different jobs created by a science park campus. We need to make sure young people know about them all.”
