The Norwich Research Community hosted a festive gathering for the business community, organised by the AIP team. Over 100 members attended an informal networking event, enjoying good food, music, and a raffle in a relaxed, seasonal atmosphere.
The lunchtime event showcased festive-themed cuisine prepared by the Genuine Dining Company’s on-site catering team, with highlights such as a popular Yule log chocolate cake and mince pies. The raffle featured a variety of prizes, including treats, wine, and premium chocolates, delighting the lucky winners.
This year’s event proudly supported the Foodbank, in partnership with The Trussell Trust, an organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and hunger across the UK. Community members generously donated a wide selection of non-perishable foods, toiletries, and baby essentials to benefit those in need.
Hannah Worsley, Project Manager, Norwich Foodbank said, ‘we are very grateful for all donations, especially when they are from our ‘most needed’ list and with thanks to Norwich Research Park for generously donating a lot of items recently, including toilet rolls which were running low on! Norwich Foodbank uses donations to make up nutritionally balanced food parcels and also gives out essential toiletries to local people in crisis, and we are so pleased that Norwich Research Park chose to donate to us this month. We expect to provide food to around 1,000 people in December alone and so are grateful that supplies are coming in to meet this demand. Our vision is a day when the need for foodbanks has gone, but until then we will work in the community to support people who are struggling.’
The Festive Fling closed the 2025 community programme, which has included social, sporting, and business events. Work is already underway for an exciting, 2026, calendar of events, starting with The Big C Charity Bring-and-Buy sale, on in January, Tuesday 27th which is now listed on our events page.
